Open Source: useful alone
Complete standalone tools, with code you can read, change, and build on.
A useful starting point
The free edition is built around standalone applications. A calendar should be useful as a calendar; a contacts app should help you organize people. You should not need a subscription to make either one useful.
Our plan is to publish source and available downloads without requiring an account. Each release will identify its license, supported platforms, and working features. Public demos are previews; they do not mean that a source release or download is ready.
Standalone does not mean closed
Free apps do not include the native Hopper connections that keep related information in sync across the Pro workspace. You can still study the source, modify it, and build your own connections under its license.
The distinction is the connected system we maintain: shared references, coordinated behavior, and tools that work together. Existing Apache-licensed code keeps its Apache permissions. Paid additions will have their own clearly stated terms.
What to expect here
Source links will appear on product pages when the corresponding editions are published and checked. Workbook Studio and Ledger are also candidates for free editions; their exact release scope is still being prepared.
